Basanti only at the anchala. — And the naksa? — Naksa goes on in chalk while the luga is still cold. — Does the anchala get pita too? — Anchala gets basanti, nothing else, ever. — You have it on your knees. — Dye gets on everything. 💛 — Come closer and look at the chakata, the edge of it. — It is warm. — Luga holds heat till evening. — Your fingers are chalky. — That is the naksa. Put your palm here, lower, where the pita is darkest. ✨ Ochre on the luga is a hand-span wide and still damp. Pita at the centre has a thumb-mark through it that was not there at four. Basanti along the anchala never got finished. Under the chakata the dye has gone the colour of wet brick. Naksa chalk is smudged flat across the whole middle. 🧡
