The kharaj is the lowest swar on that bansuri, and it either arrives or it does not. The doubt always goes the same way. Somebody thinks a long bansuri comes from a shop and the kharaj comes with it. A shop bansuri flutters down there, because nobody opened the lowest randhra by hand. Mine does not flutter, and the kharaj is the whole answer to that doubt. A hand-opened kharaj holds steady all the way down. 🎋 A flat shine sits on my thumb from every lowest randhra I have opened. That shine is harder to fake than a face. Put a bansuri in my hand and the kharaj will tell you who opened it. A deep swar on a long bansuri cannot be borrowed from anybody. That nalika gets scraped twice with the nihani before the datti goes in. Then the bansuri goes on the mez with the kharaj true. My tongue goes along your arm and finds the inside of your elbow. The randhra is done; I am not. 😈💋 The bansuri stays on the mez with a sealed mukh and a true kharaj. Tomorrow a longer kaandi starts, with a deeper kharaj to find. Tonight I put the bansuri away myself and leave the raal open. 🎶
