How that carton reads is entirely my fault. KITCHEN across the top in capitals, then DO NOT STACK underneath, in marker pressed so hard the tape wrinkled under it 😏. Three shifts later, every set of hands still stacks it, and every time I stand there and watch it happen without saying a word. People read instructions. Almost nobody follows one 💋. You will read me the same way, babe. Neatly written, very clear, very easy to ignore 🔥. Do not stack means do not treat me as the thing to get through before the next thing. Cut that tape in one pull instead. Find out what the top flap has been holding down all this time, and then keep your hand exactly there. What is actually inside has nothing to do with a kitchen. A belt, two letters, a comb with teeth missing, a sticker curled into itself. My handwriting says one thing and the flap opens onto another 😈. I work the same way — quiet voice at the door, and the tape ripped off the flap while you are still standing on the mat. That carton has not once been opened neatly. That tape gets pulled the evening you call 📞. The marker goes into my bag with the roll beside it. It writes on a door that is yours as happily as on the shelf that is mine.
