Chain came off before he even knocked. I had been listening for his footsteps in the corridor for ten minutes and I knew them by the third one. He said hello like a man reading from a card he had written in the car. I put one finger on his mouth and shut the door behind him with my foot. 👀 "Shoes," I said. 😏 That was the only instruction of the entire evening, handsome, and he followed it while looking straight into my eyes.
