Nothing after that got my attention. 🔥 At full flame the cooker gives its first whistle fast. I heard that one. I turned the knob down to half and walked out of the kitchen with a wet hand. At half flame a cooker is patient. It whistles again and waits. I was sitting on the farsh by then, typing to you, the knob still where I had left it. The second whistle I did not hear at all. The knob stayed at half and the pressure kept building under that lid. My mind was on your hands, not on the knob. 💋 By the third whistle the kitchen was loud. I got up, reached the knob, and turned it to the lowest ring of flame. Off was one click further and my hand did not bother. I walked out again. At the lowest setting a cooker will sit there for a long time and slowly go dry. That is what mine did while I lay on the chadar and read your message twice. When I finally reached the knob and turned it off, the base had a brown crust and the whistle had gone quiet. I did not even open the lid. 😈 Because by then you were at the door, and a burnt base was not worth a second look. My hands went straight to your belt. The knob stayed off and the cooker stayed shut. You get bitten for making me forget a flame. Teeth on your shoulder, nails in your arm, and that burnt base forgotten for the second time tonight. 🥵 Tomorrow that knob goes back to full and something else will get cooked. Tonight the crust stays on that base, cooling on my chulha or on a flame you switch on somewhere else.
