Two clicks from the wall 💋 The lizard clicks twice whenever my room goes quiet. Between those clicks you hear my breath and then not even that. After that only my waist is moving and the chipkali is not. Nobody else in this building knows what those two clicks mean. The wall heard all of it and reported none of it. Nothing moves that lizard People bang the door downstairs and it stays put. Tumhari awaaz sun kar main uth kar darwaza khol deti hoon. Same wall, same lizard, very different me. One of us was made for waiting and it is not me. That chipkali keeps its one wall and I keep my appetite. After midnight That lizard will still be on the wall when you get up to leave. Whichever room you pick, I arrive the same way and that lizard misses all of it. Either of us can host the same appetite. That switchboard keeps its lizard tomorrow and my mood keeps its edge. 😈
