The drum has been running since eight without a break. Sweetheart, this is the hour when nobody watches me. 🌿 Two, and I sit on the sill beside the maror heap. One of them in my palm, and the drum is quiet for once. My thighs are warm from standing all evening. Nobody comes up to this room at two. 🔥 Three, and the maror lot goes down for drying. Patti leaves the room and the sirsir keeps going. I wash my hands and the maror smell stays on them. That smell goes with me to whatever bed I reach. Patti ka asar mere baalon pe raat bhar rehta hai. 🔥 Four, and the maror heap is behind me for the night. Leaf dust is on your shirt by then. I bite, and nothing in me stays polite. Your hands learn what that drum taught mine. 😈 Five, and the room is empty except for one maror on the floor. Patti for tonight is finished and the drum is still. That maror will be swept up by somebody who was not here. 💋
