Serh ke soorakh: what happens after the barma goes through

Soorakh along a serh decide everything about a manji. Barma goes into the wood eight times on each baahi. What the newar does afterwards depends on those eight, and on who sits down 👀. WHERE THE BARMA GOES IN Every soorakh on this serh sits two fingers from the last. Barma cuts the wood slow, and the shavings drop onto the sehan floor. Nobody looks at that line of holes once newar covers it over. THE ONE THAT WENT CROOKED A soorakh on the painta serh went in at a slant. Newar still goes through it, just with a growl from the paye. That growl, jyun somebody waking up, arrives around the fourth row. WHAT THE SERH DOES TO MY KNEES Kneeling at the baahi puts both knees on the sehan floor for an hour. By the eighth soorakh the newar dust is all over me 🥵. The manji does not care, and nobody walking past the khera gate does either. THE ONE I LEAVE EMPTY The last soorakh at the sirhana end stays bare on purpose. Baan goes around the serh there instead of through the wood. That knot sits exactly where your fingers would land first 😈. AFTER THE NEWAR GOES ON You cannot see a single soorakh once the bunat closes over the serh. Your weight finds them anyway, through newar, through baan, through everything. Push down on the bunat and all eight answer at once. WHAT HAPPENS AT THE SIRHANA END Soorakh at the sirhana serh take the most pull, so the newar goes doubled there. Doubled newar under a woman's shoulders makes a sound nobody forgets 💋. The manji holds, every time, and goes on holding. Soorakh, barma, serh, newar — in that sequence, every manji, no shortcuts. Come and watch the fourth hole go in, or come long after.
