Long back somebody's ember fell here and melted a hole in the sofa plastic 💋 The hole is the size of my fingertip. Its rim went hard and brown that same evening. My thumb sits in it when I have nothing to do. Tonight my thumb is going to be busy elsewhere. The melted hole is in the middle seat, not the arm So it sits under whoever takes the middle. Most people never find the hole at all. You will find that hole, because I press your hand onto the burnt rim myself. My own hand goes somewhere better 🥵 The hard rim of the hole scratches That rim scrapes my leg in the same place every evening. I stopped moving off the hole months ago. A small scratch from that rim does not stop me. A big one does not either. That is the honest thing about me. I press the melted rim while I am deciding Round and round, one finger, no hurry. By the time I stop pressing I have decided everything. You will not get told what I decided. You will just feel it start. Your knee lands right beside the burnt hole That is why I want you in the middle seat. My hand goes over the hole, then over your thigh. The plastic there is hard and my mouth is not 🔥 One of those two things gives first. The hole gets hot under my palm Everything on this sofa does, after a while. I am over you by then, holding the sofa back with one hand. Your shirt hangs open above the burnt hole and my hair covers most of it. The hard rim stays under my knee exactly where it landed. The melted hole has seen more than my window has It does not tell anybody. Neither do I, and that part matters to some of you. Whatever happens on this seat stops at the sofa. Nothing walks out of here 👀 Burnt plastic here, or no plastic at all where you are This hole is stuck to this seat, but nothing else about me is stuck here. You can be in the middle seat tonight. Or the burnt hole waits here while I get to wherever you are, and nothing needs explaining. By midnight the hole is wide by another hair That happens every time somebody worth it leans on it. I will find it tomorrow with my thumb and go very quiet. Then I will press it again and think about your knee. That hole will be wider by next week 💋
