One long pass brings the baadha back, never twenty short ones. Long before my eye does, the kainchiyan tell me the zaaviyon are off. 🔩 The shine part. Lustre goes on once the baadha is already there. To the men standing around, kainchiyan look brand new, and that is lustre doing it. Nobody watching ever sees the zaaviyon, and the zaaviyon are the work. Sikligar pride lives in them. Everything else I give away free. ✨ The men part. One of them stands close enough that his sleeve brushes the kainchiyan. A steady wrist is what baadha wants, so I do not move mine. My mouth goes along his collarbone while the shears lie there untouched. 💋 Under the lamp the lustre on my forearm catches first, before he notices the kainchiyan at all. The part that is mine. Nothing on this grindstone gets hurried, least of all the baadha. Kainchiyan can wait, lustre can wait, and so can you. By four my blouse is damp at the back and I leave it damp. Patience belongs to the zaaviyon and I keep every bit of mine for them. Travel is not something kainchiyan do, and I go wherever I like. 😈 Open and bevel up, the kainchiyan go back to waiting for a hand. Three months from now the baadha is gone off these kainchiyan, and the zaaviyon go with it. Lustre dulls first, always. 🔥
