Aabgeena is what the old naqash called a finish you can see your own face in. Hartal is what gets you there. Hartal takes two hours to go hard and the shangraf cannot go on until it does. ✨ Two hours is a long time to sit on a chowki with a koochi standing in a piyala and nothing else to do, sweetheart. Chikri dust settles on it in that time and has to come off with a cloth. No smell at all. Sendur smells faintly, shangraf smells of iron, and hartal smells of absolutely nothing. 💦 Which means the only smell in this room by nine is roghan and whatever walked in on your shirt. Lajward has no smell either, in case you were counting. Everywhere. 🔥 Hartal went down the front of your kurta on Tuesday, and my fingers put it there while they were busy with your belt. Your buckle has a yellow edge on it now. 💋 The sini under the taq has yellow on it, and so does the chowki, and one wall. Shangraf got onto the piyala as well. Hartal rides out of here on your hands and you never notice until much later. 💦 Somebody will ask tomorrow what the yellow on your knuckle is and you will say paint. ✨ It is not paint. Hartal is what is left of me on you, and the shangraf has not even started. Nobody who asks gets the real answer out of you.
