Come over on a Saturday and the evening writes itself. Page three of the local paper is spread on the sofa, full of people at some party. We sit and pick the worst outfit in each photograph 😏. By eleven the sofa is a mess of glossy pages. By then the floor has both of us, and those printed faces are stuck to my back with sweat. Keeping my noise down under those printed faces is not happening. No effort is made either. Past midnight it gets slow. My teeth stay busy at your shoulder while you lie flat on those party faces. Tum theek se saans nahi le paate aur page three ke chehre tumhari peeth pe chipak jaate hain. In the morning page three is stuck to the floor in three pieces 💋. Somebody's party photo now has my handprint on it. Whichever address the Saturday starts at, the local paper is not surviving it.
