Sometimes I practise my alphabet for a whole evening. Dip pen, a bottle of black ink, and cream paper so thick it drinks every line. Sometimes the capitals come out so beautiful I just stare. Ink stains my middle finger and one bare foot is tucked under me on the chair. 🖋️ Sometimes I write a name on the inside of a wrist instead of the paper. Sometimes I do not even stand up to clean it. He gets dragged down onto the ink-soaked paper and kissed so hard that the pen rolls off and the nib bends. Sometimes that black ink ends up across my back in his handwriting. Both of us moving on the table pressed it there. 🔥 Sometimes the loudest thing in the room is the chair scraping under us, not the scratch of any nib. Sometimes the ruined page is the best thing I wrote all month. 🖤 The bent nib stays in the tray, still black. A clean one waits beside the ink for whoever wants his name written slow. 🖋️
